I saw a butterfly today, and it reminded me that I have the time.
Time to sit and time to linger – time to listen and time to savor.
I have reason to dance, excuses to wander, and a banner of love that I’m kept safe under.
What a joy it is to live life in the grace of the Lord.

I saw a ladybug today, and it reminded me God’s power and might can be found in small things. I don’t have to wait for the roaring waves or a burning bush to hear the whispers of God’s promised life everlasting.
It springs up and forth from the land all around me, as all creation sings that He’s worthy. Every bird and creeping thing is imprinted with the power and craftsmanship of the One whose glory they reflect. If only I’d slow down enough to consider Him.
How many times have I missed it, God speaking to me through blooming flowers and the unexpected calm of the sea? How many times has He called out to me, instead finding me too busy?
The minds of man can overlook all the tiny wonders in our midst, but God never forgets those He calls Beloved.
For that, I’m so grateful.

I saw a butterfly today, and it reminded me to pay attention. To live with eyes wide open, expectant and ready to be surprised by God. To anticipate His kindness, mercy and love in ways big and small.
His silence doesn’t have to mean withdrawal; it might be the very thing that beckons me to draw near – close enough to hear the whispers echoing forth of God’s goodness and love.
The Lord’s quiet hiddenness becomes an invitation to seek Him, so that I can find Him once again. But in this searching, I, too, am reminded I’m never beyond His gaze. I get to live today, tomorrow and every day, in and from His presence — a child never beyond the protection and providence of my Father, because He’s always there – listening, whispering, and leading.

Today, I was reminded of the gift of time, and how God hopes we’ll spend it with Him. As a butterfly floated past my sights, I was reminded to come home again – home to the Father’s house, just around the bend.
He’s been waiting for me there, faithfully, patiently, relentlessly, for me to choose Him. To remind me that He is my beginning and my end.
Oh Father, would you teach me again, the wonders of your love, and how steadily you pursue me. Slow me down to see your goodness here among the living,
Help me to linger and listen, drawing my heart into the quiet, so that I can hear your whisper. Open my eyes to the world all around, letting it become a pleasing reminder that you are good and faithful. You do not leave nor forsake your children. You delight in them.
Thank you, Lord, for beautiful things that teach us to pause, to linger, and to stand in awe.
